What Happens If You Apply Vicks Vaporub On A Garlic Clove And Put It In Your Ear?

Everyone knows about Vicks Vaporub and its camphor smell which is beyond compare. Vicks has been around for over 100 years and is one of the most widely used over-the-counter decongestants. But lately, there is a lot of fuss about its unique and unconventional ways to use this camphor-based decongestant.

Honestly, I’m quite impressed of Vicks Vaporub uses and most of them are actually extremely effective. For instance, one of Vicks surprising uses is to heal an ear pain.

Actually, I dealt with an unbearable earache two days ago. You can’t tell the pain I was put through. Some people may think that earaches are just a minor nuisance, but they cause debilitating pain. Your whole head and throat hurts along with the ear.

While waiting for medical care or antibiotics, you should know that some home remedies are quite effective … and Vicks Vaporub is one of them. It may sound awkward to apply Vicks in your ear, but trust me that this is the best way to get rid of ear pain and catch a good night sleep.

What causes an ear pain?

Well, most often an ear pain is caused by ear infections. When the ear becomes infected, inflammation and buildup of pressure cause pain that can be intense.

How I got rid of an ear pain with Vicks Vaporub and Garlic

  • Well, you will need a cotton ball, a garlic clove and some Vicks, of course.
  • So, put some Vicks on a cotton ball and introduce it in the painful ear. You should notice instant improvement.

However, the pain came back and I used the garlic and Vicks remedy:

  • Just warm up a peeled garlic clove then apply Vicks on it and insert the clove in the painful ear. Let it stand there for almost half an hour to get rid of the pain completely, even if you’ll notice improvement from the first applications. You can apply another one, but I’m sure it won’t be necessary.

Remember that this remedy works temporarily and you visiting your doctor is very important when dealing with ear infections!
