5 Healthy Post-Workout Snacks To Keep Your Body Steady

When you are starting to lose weight, different things get overwhelming. You also need to diet, to eat healthy, to workout properly, and the list can go on. You know what I mean. We start focusing on cardio and burning the most amount of calories as possible. Now, personally, I find this to be quite boring after a while so I caught up with junk food again. Thus, my whole program was for nothing. I literally had no idea of what I should eat or when I should eat. And with so many ideas out there, it can certainly be confusing! But no more. After some research, I changed my entire approach. Keep reading and see the healthiest 5 post-workout snacks to keep your body steady and your work on point.

Thus, when is the best time to eat post-workout? After a lot of trials, I figured it out that usually within 30 minutes, 45 minutes at the very latest. Post workout snacks help to restore energy to your muscles and repair any muscle damage. So keep this in mind and don’t worry you will gain back the weight you tried to shed off.

Usually, I snack on something right around 100 calories, which is quite enough for a post-workout snack. I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite post-workout snacks so let me know what you think.

First of all, I love apple and peanut butter. Because apples are the best snack. They provide energy, fiber, and a sweet crunch. Slather on a tablespoon of peanut butter and you’ve got yourself a great snack.

Another snack I like is a veggie omelet. You truly can’t go wrong with eggs. I usually prepare this snack with 1 egg and 2 egg whites mixed with a variety of veggies.

When I crave something sweet, this snack of greek yogurt with fruit is my go-to. If you’re going to eat greek yogurt, aim for an organic version. And you don’t always have to go for fat-free! Try a low-fat Greek yogurt with fresh berries or banana.

Also, a great option I think is the protein shake or fruit smoothie. I usually make a smoothie with a scoop of protein powder, fresh fruit, a little nut butter and almond milk. Try it out and you will also get that freshness.

Another pleasure of post-workout snacks is the whole grain cereal with skim milk, which is perfect. For a quick snack, try a bowl of your favorite low-sugar cereal topped with almond or skim milk. If you can’t have regular milk, try almond milk blended with a 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder!
